01 / Speaking
No lectures. No perfect answers.
Growing up can feel like everyone else has a version of who you should be. Monda makes space for the version only you can choose.
Inspired by I Am My Father’s Perfect Daughter, these conversations use lived experience, story and creativity to explore pressure, belonging and self-worth. They are shaped to be honest, age-aware and participatory.
Separating other people’s labels from your own voice—and making space for the person you are becoming.
A compassionate look at pressure, family expectations and why being “good” should never require disappearing.
Using words, marks and imagination to express what can be difficult to say—and to see yourself differently.
02 / The book
A story about the words that shape us
What happens when being the “perfect daughter” requires you to silence parts of yourself?
This lived-experience story moves through heartache, betrayal, broken relationships, loss and self-doubt—years when Ramonda often felt she was growing without guidance. The layered artwork carries that confusion; its color carries the life that remained. As faith and learning about Jehovah brought direction, a stronger woman began to emerge.

The heart of the book
The book does not ask readers to deny sorrow or pretend pain disappears. It offers the honest example of a woman learning, step by step, to keep moving without harming or sabotaging herself—and to thrive amid the confusion of growing up.
Through personal transparency and practical approaches Ramonda continues to practice, the story speaks human to human about experiences many people recognise but hesitate to discuss. Its purpose is to strengthen, encourage and inspire readers who feel trapped or despondent: other young women have found a way forward, and you do not have to give up on yourself.
“Becoming yourself is not a betrayal of where you came from.”
A central idea behind the book and Monda’s speaking work.
03 / About Monda

Designer mind. Open heart. Lived experience.
Monda is Ramonda Schwieder—an author, lived-experience speaker, designer and creative. Her work explores how family, culture, relationships and the language around us shape who we believe we are allowed to become.
Her design practice taught her to look beneath the surface, understand what people carry and make complexity feel clearer. Her writing and speaking bring that same way of seeing to young people: honest without being hopeless, personal without pretending one story speaks for everyone.
